Seigle Lanier Jr., age 87, better known as 'Larry' went home to be with to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Seigle was born November 22, 1937, in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Seigle and Essie Lanier.Seigle was baptized at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama and was involved in many church activities. His biggest joy was when his youngest nephew, William Scott, became the pastor of the church and still serves as the pastor.Seigle was a 1956 graduate of Dunbar High School in Bessemer, Alabama where he excelled in sports, especially football. He received a scholarship to attend college but chose to join the military. While serving in the Air Force in Columbus, Ohio he met his wife, Phyllis Lanier. They married in 1961 and made Columbus, Ohio their home.He was employed for 37 years with the City of Columbus as a supervisor in the Division of Parks and Recreation. He retired in 2000 but missed working so much he returned to work for three more years.S
